I have copies of letters sent to Hank Porter in regards to this design. Chennault said his men liked the design very much and Porter was given a gold and cloissonne pin of the design as recognition for his role in helping to create it. Details are in my new book "Service With Character. The Disney Studio and World War II." which is available as an e-book on Amazon.
